the Last Supperations ..Zoom

This painting was really hard to paint it because it has many historical details

In fact it´s based on Jewish traditions, Many painters painted the last supper over a occidental table, it´s wrong, according the Jewish Traditions they would recline around a “U” shaped table, so many painter like Leonardo da vinci and others are wrong.

This table called Triclinium (Roman name) built six inches above the floor making themselves comfortable on pillows placed on the floor around it. It was customary to recline to the left while they ate with the right hand. Everyone looked in the same direction, one behind the other, and oftentimes this made it difficult to talk to the person sitting behind him.

If we look at the triclinium, we see the table extensions towards us with the connecting piece in the back against the wall. The most honored guests sit on the left while the less honored ones sit on the right. The person sitting at the last seat on the right side was the least honored person and was considered the servant. If they did not have additional servants to serve the meal this person would serve the meal, or the drinks, and had to serve the rest.

For a very long time, nomadic shepherds celebrated the beginning of the year, or better yet, the transition between winter and spring with a special feast it was full moon like we can see in the painting

The original Painting is part of a private collection in Utah USA
